Hvar Island and Pakleni Islands archipelago

OK, for a start let us explain this possible confusion with names. There is ISLAND of HVAR and its capital HVAR Town. Now when we clarified this, we expect you will not confuse Hvar Town – Hvar Island anymore and we can continue…..
Most certainly you have heard of Hvar (both island and town) because it presents a unique tourist hotspot. This ancient town has been put on the world’s map by numerous celebrities from all over the rorld.

Very often, town of Hvar has been called the queen of the Croatian and Dalmatian islands. Being famous since the ancient times because of its strategic and nautical position, it is estimated that almost 20.000 people visit Hvar daily during the peak of the season.

There are several good restaurants here and a number of great hotels, but thanks to the island’s appeal to well-heeled guests, the prices can be seriously inflated. Don’t be put off if you’re on a lower budget though, as private accommodation and a couple of hostels cater to a younger, more diverse crowd.

You wonder how? Not all of the visitors squeeze on one place, some choose sightseeing, some of them take land tours mainly orientated to wine tasting. Majority of visitors book boat excursions to visit Pakleni islands / Palmižana, a group of islands located opposite of Hvar. They host numerous caves, bays and beaches accompanied by amazing beach and lounge bars. If you prefer not to squeeze in crowd – rent a boat or a speedboat and explore archipelago. And if you want really worry free boat day trip – book among numerous boat excursions and prepare to be amazed.
